Chen Rui’s upcoming bout against Yad Singh will be his second fight with REBEL FC after last year’s REBEL FC 6 – China VS The World (挑战全球) in Shenzhen where he beat Rommel Lugo (罗梅·鲁格) of the Philippines with a rear naked choke. Chen started training MMA in 2014 because he wanted to make a career out of MMA. Also, being an MMA professional, he can choose when he wants to train or when he wants to compete, giving him time to pursue his own hobbies or socialise.
While Chen enjoys the flexibility of time an MMA career affords him, it does not mean he takes things easy. Chen trains six days a week, two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. His daily routine is divided into four parts: wrestling, BJJ, striking and strength conditioning. Chen’s favourite move is to deliver a series of powerful jabs to the opponent until the opponent leaves an opening for him to apply an overhand punch for the knockout.
