The REBEL Fighting Championship Main Event sees a milestone match-up between two fighters at the prime of their careers. Fighting for the first time on foreign soil, Takeshi “Lion” Inoue, aka ‘The King of Beasts’ to his legion of fans, is a two-time Shooto featherweight champion. Boasting an impressive record of 27 wins, the 33 year old will go toe to toe with “Ruthless” Rob Lisita, the number one pound-for-pound fighter in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere, who comes into this fight as the reigning SUPREMACY South Pacific champion. For a man who views every fight as his last, Rob is eager to let his fists do the talking and insists his fight with an Inoue, himself an intense fighter with a preference for unbridled aggression is one to watch out for in what promises to be a featherweight showdown to remember.

In this co-main event, the matchup between one of Singapore’s fastest rising fighters, Syafiq “the Slasher” Samad and Gyo Pyung “Daepo” Hwang is one to savour. Though just 20 years old, Syafiq has amassed an envious record of winning fighting championships, having represented his country in Boxing and Muay Thai, where he became the first Singaporean to win the Asian Muay Thai Championships. Trained in the arts Boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and wrestling, Syafiq is merciless & unsparing in the ring, representing the toughest challenge yet for Gyo Pyung Hwang. A disciplined fighter who spent 5 intensive years training in the art of striking and wrestling for his MMA career, 24 year old Gyo Pyung, aka “The Bomb”, hails from Korean Top Team, the premier MMA association in Korea renowned for produced the country’s finest and toughest exponents. Combining raw power with a polished submission game, Gyo Pyung is looking to spoil the party by stealing the thunder from the home-grown crowd favorite.

A classic ‘technique vs brute force’ match-up, the battle between Taiyo Nakahara and Marcos Vinicius is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated face-offs at REBEL Fighting Championship this December.

Nakahara, the technically outstanding submission wizard, has been fighting for 11 years at the highest level in Japan, earning praise for his past displays at Shooto and K-1 Heroes tournaments. The one-time favourite for the coveted Sengoku Bantamweight Title, this talented Japanese warrior combines agility and speed of thought to outwit his opponents before categorically and systematically defeating them.

Vinicius, the big Brazilian from Curitiba, is the perfect counterfoil for his opponent, choosing to end bouts with a ferocious display of power and precision. The striking expert has amassed a stunning collection of knock-outs over the years, and was awarded the ‘Knockout of the Night’ on his UFC debut last year.

Nakahara and Vinicius will engage in battle this December at the Singapore Indoor Stadium as part of the main-card of the inaugural REBEL Fighting Championship.

Rounding out the main card of REBEL FC 1 is a battle between two welterweights sure to make a splash in international MMA.

Hailing from Finland, Glenn Sparv left the frigid Nordic circle for the balmy paradise of Thailand. Now training out of the quickly rising Team Quest fighting facilities headed by Joel Bowen, Sparv will face his toughest test against unbeaten Alberto Mina. With ferocious ground and pound and blistering finishing power, Sparv ended his last two opponents by TKO and will be looking to add the Brazilian as the third name on his list of victims.

Mina, a native of Paraiba, Brazil, is not a ma to be trifled with. With a record of 9 wins and 0 zero losses, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt fighting out of Epic MMA in Hong Kong has finished every single one of his opponents within three rounds. Making his return from a two year absence, Mina will be looking to re-introduce himself as the man to beat in the welterweight division.

Sparv and Mina will lock horns this December at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in the inaugural REBEL Fighting Championship event.
